The infinity symbol was originally known as the Lemniscate, meaning ‘ribbon’, by ancient Greek mathematicians and philosophers. The idea strives from The Ouroboros, an ancient symbol depicting a serpent biting its own tail. It represents the infinite immortality, continuity, self-fertilization and eternal return. The infinity symbol that we recognize today was introduced with its mathematical meaning by English mathematician John Wallis, in 1655. The word Infinity comes from the Latin word Infinities and means unboundedness. The symbol has been used by many cultures with various meanings including equilibrium, perfection, wholeness, and endlessness.

Agates are named after a Sicilian river called Achetes where the stones were first found. Achetes was the name of the river 2000 years ago. It is now known as Fiume Dirillo or Acate River in Sicily. Agates are formed from deposits of layered silica filling voids in volcanic cavities. The layers form in stages with new layers providing alternating color. Each agate forms its own pattern based on the original cavity shape. Some cavities are completely filled while others are only partially filled, leaving a hollow void which often has quartz growths in its innermost layer. The different layers have different levels of porosity and each layer will take color differently. There are many different kinds and colors of Agates. Most of them are named for their appearance or where they are from such as Blue Lace Agate or Botswana Agate. Our agate slices are dyed with bright colors.
Agates have a gentle frequency with healing properties that are slow and steady. They are thought to bring harmony to all aspects of the being; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. That makes them great for achieving stability and balance in many aspects of your life.
Dyed agate slices will fade when exposed to sun light for extended periods of time.
This blue Agate with the Infinity symbol measures approximately 5.75 x 2.25 inches. The plastic stand included.
